Five Minute Makeup! {A Guest Post}

Heather is away today so I thought I'd stop on by + say hello to her readers. I'm Sabrina + I blog over at cattails + cardigans. My blog is a place where I share stories about my life, my faith, things that inspire me + my cat, Gregory. Today I wanted to share with you all my day-to-day makeup routine. It's such a simple and easy way to make my eyes pop and you can change up the colors.

Lets Get Started:

For my face makeup- I start out with Sephora's Face Primer. (this is a sample- any primer will do) I apply it all over my face + places I will be applying my foundation. I then apply Hard Candy's Eye'm Tired, which is supposed to help with under eye circles. Then I apply my Age Rewind concealer under my eyes, around my nose + on any problem areas that I may have. Finally, I use E.L.F's Flawless Finish Foundation in Porcelain.

For my eyes- I have hazel/green eyes + I have been using lots of golds lately to make them pop. I am going to be using Sephora's Moonshadow Baked Palette in the color "In The Dark". I love this palette + I use it a lot. The colors are wonderful + show up great. Just to make sure my shadow stays on all day, I use Urban Decay's Primer Potion on my lids before I start applying eyeshadow.

Starting off, I use my regular eye shadow brush to apply a white shadow to the inside of my eyes. (1) After that I apply a goldeny- peach color to my full eyelid. (2) I take my Eye Crease Brush by E.L.F + add a dark brown to the crease in my eye. (3) Since the colors are so harsh, I go over them all with my Blending Eye Brush also by E.L.F.

 (before blending it out)

(after)

To finish off the look, I add my new favorite mascara, Two Faced's Lashgasm Mascara. It makes my lashes look so amazing + I seriously am IN LOVE with this mascara.. and there we go. A simple, yet beautiful eye shadow routine that typically takes me about 5 minutes.

For fun you can add blush of any kind + some fun lipstick. I've been dying over NYX's lipstick lately + I can't wait to get my hands on some. They have such amazing colors + they're cruelty free.

Thanks for reading + thanks for having me Heather. I hope you all enjoyed this makeup look. Take a peep on over at my blog + come say hi!

Healthy Eating {A Guest Post}

Hey everyone. My name is Paulina and I am writing this guest post for Heather since her birthday is coming up and everyone deserves a break on their birthday.

So to keep in tempo with her blog, I am going to talk about food. But going to put my own spin on it that brings some of my blog style into the mix which is talking about boring ole healthy stuff. But I think you all will enjoy this, since its all about the unhealthy that turns to be not so bad every once in awhile.

So everyone loves their goodie treats. But as you know they aren't always the best thing for you out there. However through my whole diet process and good ole google. I have been able to find a short list for you all.

Everyones favorites- Sugary Cereal
From Serious Eats
I know I am not the only one that loves good ole sugar cereal. Sure most are really bad for you, but a very common favorite sugar cereal that isn't actually all that bad. I am talking Peanut Butter Puffs are actually the healthiest sugar cereal out there. So if you are eating, don't feel bad, it is actually even better then some cereals that state are high in fiber for you because of all the other stuff that they put in those bland stuff.

The Easy One- Dark Chocolate
I am sure everyone already knows this, but incase if you don't dark chocolate is actually very good for you even more so on that lovely one week every month us females get to enjoy. And did you know on a Hersey bar three of those squares in dark chocolate is only around 75 calories?!

Mind Blowing- Sour Candy
From My lollies
This one still blows my mind, you would think that all candy is impossible to even be semi healthy for you. But those goofy little sour warms that have been around since the dawn of time are actually only 100-120 for one handful which for most people is all they can eat in one sitting anyways.

Yay Comfort- Mac and Cheese
Sure you can't exactly call this version of mac and cheese Kraft. But by just changing things up a little bit like using whole wheat noodles, white cheddar, greek yogurt instead of milk and some low fat butter and honestly after a few bites you will not be able to tell the difference.

DIY Heart Frame {A Guest Post}

Howdy Life, Love & Pinterest Fans!  I'm Rachel and I blog over at Can't Google Everything!
Since it's Heather's birthday week I wanted to help her celebrate by sharing a fun and easy craft with you guys that you can make for someone special for their birthday, anniversary or other holiday!  I found this idea on pinterest and decided to make it for my husband for Valentine's Day last year!
Pinterest Version:
So there wasn't much with the pin as far as directions go so I kind of made up my own!  Here is my version:
I picked out 6 places that are meaningful to me and my husband, but you could really do any amount with this idea!  You could even do just one big one for your wedding or something!
First step- I found the places I wanted on google maps and printed out the maps on nice paper.
Step two- I took a heart stencil and traced it around my places so all the hearts would be the same size.  Cut them carefully and erased any pencil marks!
Step three- Glue the hearts onto nice paper and then add the captions!  I printed the words on on nice paper but they aren't perfectly even!  I used craft studs to keep them in place on the background paper.
And there you have it!
I think this is an easy and cute gift for anyone you want to shower with love or even to give a couple for a wedding gift with spots that are meaningful to them!  There are really so many uses for maps!
I hope you enjoyed my easy DIY!

Brown Sugar and Balsamic Glazed Pork Loin {A Guest Post}

Name/Alias: Casey @ Aslan's Auspicious Albany Adventure
A brief description of your blog: A newlywed Texan misplaced to the Capitol Region of the Empire State. My blog is a lifestyle blog filled with the journeys and mishaps that come with moving to the Northeast. I enjoy anything that is different, quaint and eclectic. I am a dreamer and a creator trapped in a first born anal retentaive's body. I love everything DIY, modern and fashion with flair. I am married to a brainy scientist who has his Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry. He is not only intelligent but, loving, patient, kind, and most of all my better half.

Hello Ladies!
I'm Casey and I blog over at Aslan's Auspicious Albany Adventure. I am delighted to have to opportunity to guest post on Life Love & Pinterest! I hope Heather has a wonderful birthday week and can't wait to hear about her adventures when she returns.

Over at my blog you will mostly find me figuring out life, love and marriage 1,700 miles away from "home". It is filled with recipes, crafting, daily life mishaps from a brand new wife.

This recipe comes from C+C Marriage Factory: Brown Sugar and Balsamic Glazed Pork Loin.
My hubby is a definite carnivore and I wanted to try something different than our chicken and ground turkey meals.

This was definitely a hit and will be one that we will continue to serve in our Aslan abode.

Ingredients:
1 (2 pound) boneless pork tenderloin (or regular pork loin)
1 teaspoon ground sage
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 clove garlic, crushed
1/2 cup water

Glaze
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1/2 cup water
2 tablespoons soy sauce

Directions:
Combine sage, salt, pepper and garlic. Rub over roast. Place in slow cooker with 1/2 cup water. Cook on low for 6-8 hours. About 1 hour before roast is done, combine ingredients for glaze in small sauce pan. Heat and stir until mixture thickens. Brush roast with glaze 2 or 3 times during the last hour of cooking. Serve with remaining glaze on the side.

Servings: 6-8

Meat placed into Crockpot with rub

Ingredients for Glaze...BEST part!

Be patient with stirring your glaze. It will thicken over the heat...don't add more cornstarch (YIKES)

Highly recommend cooking for full 6-8 hours. Meat is extremely tender that way!

Used extra glaze to serve over rice
Hope you enjoy this recipe! Be sure to stop on by Aslan's Auspicious Albany Adventure if you have any questions or would like to share your culinary creations with me!
